The HEART/NSTA Trust on April 23, 2025, hosted its annual luncheon for Administrative Profressionals in celebration of Administrative Professionals Day at the S Hotel in Kingston. Administrators drawn from all HEART institutions across the island were invited to the engagement which included the announcement of the Administrative Professional of the Year. Following an intense shortlisting exercise and an interview by a panel, Miss Renee Ricards emerged as the Administrative Professional of the Year 2024.

Who is Renee Richards?

Driven by resilience and purpose, she is a results-oriented Administrative Professional with a unique journey that began in HEART on the School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) in 2019. She currently serves as Administrative Officer to the Regional Director for Region 1 and does so with professionalism, adaptability and discretion providing support to that entire region with a great level of diligence, calmness and team spirit.

Renee’s personality blends introversion with vibrant bursts of extroversion. She is adventurous at heart, often embarking on solo journeys such as mountain climbing, parasailing, travelling, or even leaping from heights.

Renee Richards is presented with the 2024 Administrative Professional of the Year trophy by Mrs Marcia Donaldson Thomas Director, Human Resource Management and Development.

How many of us are aware that Renee is a former track athlete as well as a footballer? This was part of her life in high school and to this day she embraces that side of her life. With a passion for balance and wellness, Renee participates in the Sigma Run as part of the HEART team; an event that she looks forward to annually Described as the ''life of the party'' she brings laughter and joy to every space she occupies.

These experiences she says, mirror her professional ethos: bold, daring and full of depth. Like a guinep fruit, she is firm around the edges, but full of sweetness and substance within.

With advanced training in Records Management, Secretarial Studies, and Fixed Asset Management, she brings exceptional organizational, communication, and planning skills to her current role. Renee holds certifications in Business Administration (Associate Degree), Procurement and Human Resource Management (Degree/Level 5). She is currently pursuing a degree in Finance & Management at the Excelsior Community College. As someone who thrives on growth, she continues to evolve both personally and professionally. Her personal quote is, “I am the rose that sprang from the concrete and bloomed.”

Applications are done directly at the institution. To apply, please take the following documents: TRN, birth certificate, two passport sized photograph, government ID, and any proof of qualification you may have. Please note that applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Once your application is processed and orientation is scheduled, you will be contacted.
