Annual Report 2021 – 2022
An Excerpt from the HEART/NSTA Trust Annual Report 2021 – 2022:
“The HEART/NSTA Trust is a household name in Jamaica, a treasured national institution and a benchmark for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the Caribbean. In this Jamaica’s 60th year of independence, the Trust is taking stock of its significant contributions over the past 40 years, as it accelerates redesigned programmes and services for the Jamaican Labour Force. The HEART/NSTA Trust demonstrated remarkable resilience during 2021 amid the vicissitudes of the COVID-19 pandemic, to surpass its enrolment targets, keeping 112,320 learners in training while partnering with employers to secure 2,334 permanent jobs and 17,616 decent work opportunities for graduates and Jamaicans from all walks of life. These year-on-year improvements in performance against set targets are reflective of the ongoing process of reorganisation and transformation at work in the Trust, to align its methodologies and outputs with the Human Capital Development policies of the Government, which are consistent with the overarching goals for economic growth, social inclusion and national development.”
