The Amber National AI Lab is a next-generation innovation hub established through strategic partnerships with:
    •   University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech Jamaica)
    •   HEART/NSTA Trust
    •   Amber Group Limited

Digicel is the connectivity sponsor for this programme. Digicel will provide each student with a data-only free plan of 300 GB to facilitate the educational process.

Direct Entry Pathway

You May Qualify If You:

  • Possess 5 CSEC/GCE O’Level subjects at a minimum Grade 3 or approved equivalent qualifications, including:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics

Bridging Pathway

You May Qualify If You:

  • Possess 3 CSEC/GCE O’Level subjects
  • Successfully complete UTech bridging courses and attain a minimum passing grade of 50%

HEART Level 3 Pathway

You May Qualify If You:

  • Hold a HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 certification in an Information Technology-related field of study

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Consideration

You May Qualify If You:

  • Are eligible for consideration under Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) where applicable
  • Ideal for individuals with relevant work experience, certifications, or prior learning that may support programme entry.

AI Integration Programme Pathway

Applicants Who Do Not Meet The Above Requirements

May be considered for entry into the:

HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 AI Integration Programme

This pathway provides foundational preparation for future progression into the Associate Degree in Artificial Intelligence

Varies based on existing skill level.
Stipend Based: Yes

Part-Time Pathways

Part-time pathways are available; however, participants enrolled in these pathways are not eligible for stipends.

You may qualify if you:

  • Have 5 CSEC/GCE O’Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics
  • Have 3 CSEC/GCE O’Level subjects and complete UTech bridging courses
  • Hold a HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 certification in an IT-related field
  • Qualify under Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
  • Are 17 years and older

Applicants who do not meet these requirements may still be eligible for the HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 AI Integration Programme.

Applicants must possess:

  • 5 CSEC/GCE O’Level subjects at a minimum Grade 3 (or approved equivalent)
  • Including:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics

You may still qualify through the Bridging Pathway by:

  • Completing UTech bridging courses
  • Achieving a minimum passing grade of 50%

Applicants with a HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 certification in an Information Technology-related field may qualify for alternative or accelerated pathway options.

PLA allows applicants with relevant work experience, certifications, or prior learning to be considered for admission, even if they do not meet traditional academic requirements.

You may be considered for entry into the HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 AI Integration Programme, which provides foundational preparation for progression into the associate degree programme.

Programme duration varies depending on your entry pathway:

  • Full-Time pathways:  12 months
