As a diamond sponsor of the recently held Jamaica Employers Federation 2026 Convention, the HEART/NSTA Trust was not simply present at the conversation about the future of Jamaica’s workforce — we helped shape it.

Held under the theme “Rebuilding with Purpose: Turning Crisis to Opportunity,” the convention provided a platform for the Trust to demonstrate its workforce development proposition to a major gathering of business leaders, HR practitioners, and senior decision-makers. That demonstration earned us the Best Exhibit Award — a recognition made more significant by the fact that it came from the very audience we exist to serve.

Our exhibit provided employers a window into HEART/NSTA Trust’s commitment to [name specific content — NVQ-J credential architecture, enterprise training pathways, technology-aligned programmes, the new credit system], and the emphasis on human development as the foundation of business productivity and national renewal. The two days brought together a diverse group of team members from the National Training and Programmes Division, Human Resource Management and Development, Organisational Systems and Processes, and Partnerships — supported by the Marketing, Communications and Community Engagement team.

Speaking on what employer engagement at the convention means for the HEART/NSTA Trust, Mrs. Donaldson-Thomas noted: “HEART believes that partnering with employers provides direct access and invaluable exposure for our trainees. HEART provides the skills; we train individuals in construction, electrical, and other vocational areas, and at this time, we are providing these skilled trainees to the nation to help us rebuild.”

The 2026 Convention continues a long legacy of collaboration between the JEF and the HEART/NSTA Trust. As we become more deliberate in our engagement with major stakeholders, we look forward to continued dialogue with those we connected with at the event and to progressing the enterprise training enquiries received over the two days.
