An excerpt from the Jamaica Observer:

“Adult learners who have exited or may not have entered the formal education system and require access to learning opportunities can do so through the HEART/NSTA Trust’s High School Diploma Equivalency (HSDE) programme.

Managing Director of the HEART/NSTA Trust, Dr Taneisha Ingleton, said the agency is all-inclusive and all about human capital development.

“So, if it is you did not get that opportunity to go to high school or really finish your primary education, we take you through a phased basis… reading, writing. We have had a lot of success stories across our High School Diploma Equivalency programme,” Dr Ingleton said.

She was speaking on the Good Morning Minister programme on Love 101, Wednesday.”

This program allows you to do CXCs’ and City & Guilds subjects. The classes are offered free of cost to participants; however, participants are required to pay for the Exams. Applications are done at your nearest parish office and the specific parish office will advise what classes are available and how they are schedule. This allows you to do CXCs’ and City & Guilds subjects that are offered through our parish offices. The classes are offered free of charge to participants; however, participants are required to pay for the exams. Applications are done at our parish office, and the specific parish office will advise what classes are available and how they are scheduled.

      Good day, Rowenna. Thank you for your interest in our program. Our High School Diploma Equivalency (HSDE) program is offered face to face through our parish offices who would advise what classes are available and how they will be scheduled. The classes are offered free of cost to participants; however, participants will be required to pay for the Exams. To be eligible for our School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) applicants are required to be between ages 17 to 23 and have at least one CSEC subject.
