Dr. Taneisha Ingleton
Managing Director
Dr. Taneisha Ingleton is the Managing Director of the HEART/NSTA TRUST, Jamaica’s leading human development agency. Prior to this appointment Dr. Ingleton served as Vice-President of Administration and University Registrar at the Caribbean Maritime University. In this capacity, Ingleton had responsibilities for Human Resource, Student Administration/Services, Legal Services, Marketing and Communications, Security, General Services and the Secretariat. She served as the Chief Operations Officer of the University and oversaw all university functions. Prior to her appointment at the Caribbean Maritime University, Ingleton served for seven (7) years at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information. For four (4) of those years, she served as Director/Principal for the National College for Educational Leadership and as its Director of Programmes for three (3) years.
In 2017, Dr. Ingleton was the individual consultant and designer of the Whole of Government Competency Framework and Professional Pathways for the Public Service. She has been an adjunct lecturer at the undergraduate and PhD levels in both Jamaica and Canada in the area of educational policy and planning, school effectiveness, Spanish language and culture. She also has extensive experience at the secondary education level in the area of Spanish language and literature, curriculum development and enhancement in Jamaica. Dr. Ingleton is an author, educator, leadership development programme designer, researcher and competency framework consultant. She has over 18 years of experience in implementing and enforcing policies and systematic procedures to improve organisational effectiveness. She has experience in bringing structure, credibility, articulation and alignment to human resource, communications, IT, logistics and customer service practices. She is adept at recruiting, conducting training, and supervising cross functional and multi-generational teams, and managing performance evaluations.
Additionally, she has extensive experience in implementing data-driven solutions, KPIs; and has used management approaches, such as appreciative inquiry, the blue ocean strategy, and results-based management to achieve organisational effectiveness.
Dr. Ingleton holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London with upper second-class honours; a PhD from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada; a Masters of Philosophy with distinction; a Post Graduate Diploma in Education with distinction; and a Bachelor of Arts with first class honours from the University of the West Indies. She is also an alum of the Harvard Business School Executive Education. Her scholarly writing, experiences and dissertation research have focused significantly on leadership development. In 2021, Dr. Ingleton successfully completed the Public Sector Senior Leadership Development Programme offered in collaboration with the Management Institute for National Development (MIND), the Office of the Services Commission (OSC) and the Ministry of Public Service and was named valedictorian by her cohort.
Dr. Ingleton has collaborated with private and public sector entities – nationally and internationally – and non-governmental organisations and has successfully built and led high performance teams. She has travelled extensively in consultancy capacities, conference presenter and keynote speaker, and has published papers on transformational leadership, leadership development, language and culture. She is an excellent conceptualiser and an ardent researcher, a certified performance coach, and a member of the International Leadership Association and the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica. Dr. Ingleton is a motivational and sought-after keynote speaker on matters relating to leadership development, creating a culture of continuous improvement, authenticity and personal and professional advancement. In 2019, she published her book, titled “Being, Learning and Doing: How Leaders Create Capabilities”.
